Why am I a Complementary Therapist?

When I fell ill at the peak of my career in the residential lettings business I had no idea what had happened to me.  Having been told it was 'work-related stress' I felt like I had failed in my quest to be one of the best in the business.  Six months passed with no improvement but plenty of other symptoms I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / Myalgic Encephalopathy.  After two years of rest I very slowly began to improve.  I was fully aware I could not return to such a demanding work schedule and over time I no longer had the desire to continue working in that business environment.  I began to re-think on the next path to take.  It was Reflexology that had been instrumental in providing the right holistic treatment for my recovery and I became a true believer in the powerful healing from within.  Two years later I took on the highly demanding qualification of a Reflexology level 3Diploma at the IIR and one year on I passed exams!

If it wasn't for a professional reflexologist visiting my home once a week when I was so poorly I could barely walk, I would not be where I am today.  I am not 'cured' of this condition but I am now able to do so many more tasks of everyday life that we all take for granted.  It was only when I fell poorly with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / M.E. did I really begin to understand the importance of looking after your body and it was through this that I saw a new path for me in the world of reflexology.

For further details on the condition of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / Myalgic Encephalopathy can be found at the website www.meassociation.org.uk

During my successful career as a Reflexologist I soon took an interest in Hopi ear candling as I had personally been affected by Tinnitus as part of my chronic illness and I wanted to get some relief naturally.  I found the most professional training course I could find which is Thermo-Auricular® Therapy.  This treatment has become a wonderful addition to my treatments with reflexology.

As time as moved on, I have added a third therapy in Indian Head Massage which complements my treatments of reflexology and Thermo-Auricular® Therapy.  Please click here for further details.
